1. Download another program.

Different file extensions work with different programs, and it can be difficult to figure out which program opens which files. Here are a few programs that usually work with BLG files:

• Windows Binary Performance Log
• ARCSOLO Backup Log
• MicroSim PCBoard Backward ECO Log File
• BibTeX Log

You can download one of these programs from the software developer’s website.

2. Look at the file type.

The file type can sometimes tell you which program might open the file. If you have BLG files, they are most likely types of Data Files. A program that works with Data Files should open BLG files.

Don’t know the file type? You can find it by right-clicking the file and selecting “Properties” or “More Info.” The file type will be listed under “Type of File” or “Kind”.

3. Check with the software developer.

Try contacting the developer of one of the programs mentioned above. They can help you figure out why your BLG file won’t open. Some of the most common developers are listed below.

4. Install a universal file viewer.

Universal file viewers can open many different types of files, depending on the format. If your BLG file won’t open, try installing a universal file viewer like File Magic (Download). Some files aren’t compatible with universal file viewers. These files will only open in binary file format.
